Accommodation in Champage

Welcome to Champagne - the whole world has heard of the wine and the region but you are going to STAY

About Champagne Accommodation

Champagne accommodation is limited and includes gites, les chambres d'hotes/zimmers/pensions (bed and breakfasts), alberges (inns), hotels, and chateaux. Graded gite accommodation is largely French-owned and can be found on French portal websites such as Gites de France and CleVacances.

Small wine villages often have a considerable range of accommodation with the local Tourism Office being a good contact point.

On the Route Touristique du Champagne (the Champagne tourist route) you are going to find wine villages that range from the functional to the delightful. As a result it is much the village as your bed that will be significant in your tour experience. Let us take you on a tour of a typical Champagne wine village

Welcome to Ludes

This wine growing village is central to the grape growing Marne region and only 15 kilometres from Reims. It is surrounded by vineyards and offers easy access to walking and cycling tracks, and for the wine tourist a slow relaxing and pleasant environment. The village is home to approximately 20 champagne producers.

B&B accommodation in Champagne producer's chateax

If you want to be in a wine village with operational wine-makers and wineries then Ludes is ideal and this property would suit you very well. Central to the whole Champagne wine region, close to other vineyards in the Premier and Grand Cru villages like Mailly Champagne, Chigny-les-Roses, Verzenay, Verzy, Bouzy, and Chaumuzy plus the towns of Dormans and Epernay, and Reims city

The home is beautiful, the grounds well maintained and the rooms are very clean, extra large and very well appointed. The owners were very welcoming and they make their guests feel really at home. In the evening they have a champagne-tasting degustation dinner which involves each course being paired with a different champagne from the house. It is a great experience with some lovely champagnes. Breakfasts are included in the room rates. On offer were a selection of fresh cheeses, several meats, fruit, yogurt, breads, pastries and cereals

Ease of Access

You can walk to any number of champagne producers and vineyards within 400 metres. Driving is easy with good roads but care is needed when driving in the villages - narrow roads and cars parked in the street

Staying in a Champagne wine village is a very real experience which takes you back in time. If you enjoy the better things in life like great accommodation, fine decor and wonderful champagne then this will be your special place!
