Accommodation in Alsace
Wonderful wine villages abound with architecture that will excite and delight - perfect places for wine lovers' holidays. WELCOME to the ALSACE!
About Alsace Accommodation
Alsace accommodation is extensive and includes gites, les chambres d'hotes/zimmers/pensions (bed and breakfasts), alberges (inns), hotels, and chateaux. Graded gite accommodation is largely French-owned and can be found on French portal websites such as Gites de France and CleVacances.
Small wine villages often have a considerable range of accommodation with the local Tourism Office being a good contact point. For example the wine village of Hunawihr with a population of 500 has over 200 beds available in gites and B&Bs.
Our top recommendation for accommodation in Alsace for larger groups: La Maison Bleue in Riquewihr

Your base in an Alsace Wine Village
On the Route des Vins D'Alsace (the Alsace Wine Route) you are going to find numerous wine villages all with great character and delightful architecture. As a result it is as much the village as your bed that will be significant in your tour experience. Let us take you on a tour of a typical Alsace wine village
Welcome to Hunawihr
This charming wine-growing village is one of the sunniest in France. Its position at the foot of the Vosges mountains and surrounded by vineyards, offers easy access to walking and cycling tracks, offering satisfaction to the wine tourist along with relaxation and pleasure.

DEMEURE d' ANTHYLLA
Apartment in former wine merchant's house
If you want to be in a wine village with operational wine-makers and wineries then Hunawihr is ideal and this property would suit you fine. Central to the whole Alsace wine region close to other Alsace wine villages especially Riquewihr, Ribeauville, Eguisheim, plus the towns of Colmar & Selestat and Strasbourg city.
The property lived up to our expectations. The building and decor is very Alsace with heaps of antiques and relics of rural life all around. The building is in fact an antique built in 1605 - a step back in time. Great off-street parking, delightful grounds with areas to relax and eat outdoors, great swimming pool and barbecues.
Ease of Access
You can walk to any number of wineries and vineyards within 400 metres. Driving is easy with good roads but care is needed when driving in the villages - narrow roads and cars parked in the street
Living in an Alsace wine village is a very real experience which takes you back in time. You have all the modern amenities but an atmosphere that is difficult to re-create. We enjoyed the property but if you are looking for a modern building then there are more properties in the village - see below.
