French cooking and cuisine are at the heart of living in France. The French love wine and food and we want to share it with you.

Our one-day food and wine classes focus on fun and enjoyment in a friendly French family atmosphere. The classes are for small groups of 1 to 4 persons with the menus tailored to your personal preferences.

Our classes take you to produce markets for shopping; local restaurants to enjoy a meal, wine and food matching tour for your menu; into a French family kitchen for food preparation and instruction; and to experience a delightful 4-course meal with wine.

At the market - a French shopping experience

At the heart of French cooking is great fresh produce and what better place than the local produce market.





We will guide you through the market and discuss our purchases for the evening meal. You will rub shoulders with local housewives intent on getting the best and freshest produce.





We may be looking for ingredients to make the dishes below, for example, sausages and cheeses to produce a platter; maybe some fresh mussels; or ripe melons and ham for a starter.




Are you ready to come French market shopping? 


 We take lunch in a delightful French village cafe, which is only minutes from our property.


Natalie the owner, who is a trained cordon bleu and professional chef, will produce a lunch that will delighted and surprise you with typical Loire French restaurant dishes.



The menu reflects local ingredients and dishes so you will be excited by what is offered. Typical dishes you could partake in shown below. 

Wine Tour France - wine and food matching

Wine and food matching is part of this class, so armed with the night's menu we head off to one or two favourite wineries where you will be able to taste a range of red, white and rose wines that are typical of the Loire region. We will lead you through the flavours of each dish and how to balance the wine characteristics.

 In the KITCHEN - Food preparation/cooking class




 In the kitchen, we will instruct you in food preparation and demonstrate a number of French techniques


 You will be taken step by step through such great French classic dishes as the Loire's own Tart Tatin (la tarte des demoiselles Tatin) as shown below.


While the meal is cooking we will enjoy canapés and pre-dinner drinks.

DINNER! - a menu of typical FRENCH DISHES

 Your four course French dinner menu will be planned in conjunction with Anne Sophie prior to your class. The resulting menu could be wide and varied.


A typical 4 course French meal shown below comprises: 

  • Starter - Figs, goats cheese & ham 
  • Salad - beef cheeks with walnuts, poached egg and salad greens
  • Main - Veal escalope in a wine sauce with potatoes
  • Dessert - Tarte Tatin with ice cream & whipped cream
