A ONE DAY St. EMILION TOUR St.Emilion wines, village walk, lunch & grand Cru Chateau visits We recommend catching the train from Bordeaux St Jean at 10.30am. Make sure you give yourself enough time to get your ticket and find the platform as St Jean is a large and busy station. If you are driving rather than training from Bordeaux email us for a map. Caro Feely, winemaker, certified wine educator and published author, will meet you at 11.15am at St Emilion station and return you there at the end of the day. From the station we follow the bottom road of St Emilion to our first visit, a highly regarded Grand Cru Classe with a magnificent chateau and grounds. After seeing their state of the art winery, tasting four wines including a grand cru classé and visiting the vineyards our appetites will be heightened in anticipation of a fine three course lunch on the main square in the medieval village of St Emilion. With Caro Feely of French Wine Adventures you will discover the St Emilion that most tourists miss. After lunch we climb the Church Bell Tower (for those willing and able) for the most awesome views, visit the cloisters and the Collegiate church. The afternoon takes us to another grand cru classé on a different terroir that offers a smaller and more intimate but no less awe-inspiring than our first. At the end of the day Caro will return you to the station or the village if you are going to stay on for more exploring or for the night.
