- Handy to a number of historical medieval sites

Liberté, Cremps in Cahors/Lot wine region, France
Unique farmhouse gite/B&B conversion in the Lot countryside
LibertéA large old Quercy stone farmhouse, offering very flexible accommodation, set
in 6 peaceful acres of woodlands, gardens and meadows.
The house and gardens have been specifically designed to lend themselves to a happy balance of enjoying
private time and socialising. Liberté has a total capacity for 10-12 people (5 x 2 sharing + 2 children
in Oak) providing very flexible accommodations and gardens for a house party of 10-12 people.
A particular feature is that each unit (Acorn, Oak, Truffle, Tree) has its own separate kitchen and
dining and every bedroom in the whole house has its own wash/loo facilities as described above. Take a
week or even two in one of the gites, or combination of gites including the whole house, to suit your
family or group. Tree with 3 bedrooms, has reception rooms which cope well with 10-12 people,
for everyone to get together.
If you really want to relax you can can avail yourself of the services of an on-site, English speaking
housekeeper (at extra cost)
The house was recently (2006) restored in keeping with its original period (1830) and is furnished with style,
flair, quality and imagination. Many original features – fireplaces, éviers, exposed beams, staircases
and thick, old, stone walls but with all the mod cons too.
Our guests in our first summer (2006) tell us they were 'blown away' by the total tranquility of the
place and the chilled ambiance interspersed with a wealth of fascinating day trips and outings -
not to mention the wine, the food and the company! A well organised supply of tourist information
is on hand for guests.
Gite Acorn
—Self-contained on ground Floor, beautifully appointed, and economically priced. It has a galley
kitchen with a microwave and grill but no oven. Acorn is available on a per night basis as well so it
is ideal for student travellers, overnighters, cyclists and walkers on tour as a stopover, and
anyone who is passing through for a couple of nights.
Gite Oak—Self-contained on ground floor, an elegantly presented "Master Suite" for self-catering in style,
"home from home", with a large, well equipped and efficient kitchen , seated dining for 4. The combined
bedroom/living area is spacious and well-planned with a separate children's bedroom with bunk beds
for 2 making Oak ideal for a family of 4. Acorn and Oak work well together as a family unit for 2
adults and up to 4 children as they are right next to each other.
Truffle - Self-contained on ground floor, is a charming apartment for 2 with a gracious open plan
living/dining/kitchen area ideal for longer stays and entertaining. Equipped with a king size bed and
a sofa bed, Truffle can also accomodate 2 small children.
Tree—Self-contained on first floor with 3 uniquely styled large, double bedrooms each with their own
first-class facilities. Large and stylish reception rooms with beautiful double-height to beams,
open-plan kitchen and dining room. Fully functional office (nominal at-cost charge for use of phones,
pc, internet etc). 2 entrances with big, old, wide, stone staircases.
Really, so much more than your average gites! Truly a five star experience and at a very fair price.

Location
20-25 minutes from Cahors, a big bustling old market town and with good access to airports.
Local food shops, cafés and restaurants are just a 10-15 min car drive (Lalbenque and Limognes).
Historical medieval sites like Saint-Cirq.-Lapopie and Rocamadour (the 2nd. most visited site
in france)are an easy drive away.
Our comments on this property
This is a quality conversion of “two” adjoining farmhouses that has resulted in excellent
accommodation. You cannot fault the décor, appointments, and above all, the thought that
has gone into this “don’t spare the expense” conversion—it is outstanding in every respect.
It is truly value for money!
You are at a “central” point in that the vineyards are mainly on the other side of Cahors
however most of the historical villages and sights are on River Lot side of Liberte.
While the gites are all in one building they all have total privacy from one another.
Would we recommend this property?
Due to the thought in design layout of these gites they will suit any combination from
a single traveller to a group of 12 people. Ideal for extended family group and/or wine tour groups.
Difficult to find a higher quality gite with a more helpful and delightful hostess—Chi Morgan.
