SEVEN DAY BURGUNDY ITINERARY with 5 day PRIVATE WINE, FOOD & HISTORY TOUR

	Arrival in Burgundy Meet & Greet on arrival with collection and transport to your accommodation
	Sunday - Medieval Burgundy After tasting some local wines from the Auxerrois we visit the picturesque medieval village of Flavigny sur Ozeraine where 'Chocolat' was filmed. We then join the locals to have lunch in a Ferme Auberge run by a group of farmers' wives using produce from farms in the region. In the afternoon we drive to the stunning village and 12C castle of Chateauneuf en Auxois for a private guided tour of the refurbished rooms in the fortified chateau. We return home via the picturesque Ouche Valley running alongside the Burgundy canal
	Monday - Cote de Beaune with wine tasting lunch Today is devoted to the Cote de Beaune where we start the day with a visit to the acclaimed 15th century Hospices de Beaune. A charity hospital, still maintained today with the proceeds from its famous wine auction held on the 3rd Sunday in November every year. We then visit a famous vineyard in the Cote de Beaune for a tour of their vineyard and a four course lunch accompanied by a wine tasting of TEN different wines. In the afternoon drive through the vineyards of the Hautes Cotes and admire the stunning views across the landscape and finish the day with a visit to the Chateau de Rochepot or a second wine tasting in a local cellar putting into practice what you have learned at lunchtime.
	Tuesday - Cathedral, Chateau and Cheese Visit the ancient Basilica of Vezelay, famous throughout history as the starting off point for the Crusades, today it is s till a centre for pilgrimages to the shrine of Santiago de Compostela. The monastery was founded in the 9C and dedicated to Mary Magdalene who was said to be buried there. The building was saved in the 19C by the architect Viollet-le-Duc and some of the relics of Mary Magdalene are still kept in the crypt underneath the Basilica. Lunch today could be taken in a Michelin starred restaurant and in the afternoon we will visit the Chateau d'Epoises. This refurbished chateau has a history that dates back to Merovingian times and goes all the way through to the Revolution. No visit to Burgundy would be complete without a cheese tasting and where could be better than the home of that King of Cheeses, Monsieur Epoisses
	Wednesday - Cote de Nuits We start the day with a private guided visit of Chåteau du Clos Vougeot and the ancient cellar of the Cistercian monks with its medieval wine presses. We then have a private cellar tasting in the Cote de Nuits followed by lunch in a typical regional restaurant. A stroll around the famous vineyards of Romanee Conte will help settle our lunch and a visit to a second Cote de Nuits cellar will whet our appetites for the evening.
	Thursday - Historic Dijon A walking tour of historic Dijon, seat of the Dukes of Burgundy, is on our itinerary this morning. Dijon market is also open so we can take in the sights, sounds and smells of a traditional French life then lunch is taken according to your suggestion. After lunch you can indulge in some free time for some shopping or in the Museum of Fine Arts. A visit to the Cassisium for a tasting of Fruit liquors or to the Imaginarium for a Cremant (Burgundy Champagne) tasting will round of our day perfectly.
	Au revoir — time to say goodbye Departures are before 10 am.
